Creativity in research

– Mission
A new way of thinking about food
A new way of thinking about food
Italian Food Design is a Research Platform of CREA – the Research Centre for Food and Nutrition, based in Rome. The project promotes an innovative approach to food design based on Design Thinking, bringing together science, creativity and sustainability.
It involves multidisciplinary professionals — biotechnologists, nutritionists, designers, agronomists, chefs, anthropologists, economists — to develop food solutions that enhance raw materials, local territories and Italian food culture.
All projects are forward-looking: grounded in scientific research, creativity and the collaboration between different fields of knowledge, with the goal of human wellbeing and the health of the Planet.

The Italian Food Design team is made up of professionals from diverse backgrounds, united by a passion for food innovation and by the belief that the food of the future is born from the meeting of distant disciplines.
It is precisely the cross-pollination of different fields of knowledge — each with its own way of looking at reality — that generates new and effective solutions.
— CREA Methodological Approach
